Parent Support Worker, Lancashire
Fulltime – £27,052 ((NJC Point 32- 35)
CROP is a national charity working with parents to end child sexual exploitation. We work with parents whose children are groomed into sexual exploitation and trafficking. We give information to help parents understand what is happening to their child and offer emotional and advocacy support to strengthen parents’ coping strategies. And we liaise with safeguarding agencies to get them to work with the family and respond to the abuse.
A grant from Comic Relief has given us the opportunity to place a CROP Parent Support Worker to work alongside Lancashire Constabulary and the multi-agency teams they have set up which are dedicated to tackling child sexual exploitation across Lancashire. In particular, this post will be working alongside Operation Deter – Preston, and Operation Cherish – Ormskirk and Skelmersdale.
You will need to be able to
• Offer one to one support and advocacy to parents under stress
• Have knowledge and understanding of child sexual exploitation in the UK
• Work on your own initiative as well as be part of a team
• Have excellent communication skills
